Kai was purchased from
Shasta Pets in Redding, California two months after his previous
owner gave him back to the shop. The previous owner did not feed
him enough or care for him properly. Charlene, the owner of Shasta
Pets and a reputable snake breeder, mentioned that they (the staff)
could not get him to eat and they were worried he might not survive.
We
purchased him, took him home, set him up in a new enclosure, and let
him get use to his new surroundings for a couple of days. Then
Saturday morning we took him out for his first basking session using
the Snake Walker system! After a 30-minute session (about 84
degrees outside), we put him back in his enclosure and thawed some
mice.

Upon
introduction of a thawed mouse, he nearly took my hand striking
the mouse! It was as if he had never eaten! Immediately after,
he took and swallowed a second mouse!
After subsequent sessions, he is eating vigorously consuming two
medium rats per session! Snake Walking can revive the natural
desires and instincts of your snake. It is a useful tool for
rehabilitating snakes that have lost their appetite and have
become lethargic. Real sunlight and freedom of movement does
wonders!
